Topic : "Climate Change: A Call for Action"

Roger’s professional background includes over 32 years of oil and gas projects worldwide including arctic and coastal engineering projects.  His personal interests include scuba diving and his grandchildren.  These interests are being profoundly influenced by climate change.

Roger will share work and personal life experiences related to climate change, plus how he became involved with Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL).  Upon joining CCL, he was challenged, as a Catholic to look into Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’ (“On Care for Our Common Home, 2015).  This led to research into the views of other faiths, as well as investigating the position of prominent scientists, universities and scientific organizations.

You may also be surprised to discover who else from the oil industry, government sector, and military are climate change advocates.  So the challenge is to build political will to enact responsible climate legislation.  Citizen’s Climate Lobby is a bipartisan organization focused on building constructive relationships with Congress in order to enact Carbon Fee and Dividend (CF&D) legislation.  The CF&D solution will be discussed as an effective way to reduce carbon emissions, grow the economy, and bridge the partisan divide.
